Spider Veins (Rosacea)
Facial veins (telangiectasias or rosacea) are very fine, superficial veins that have become permanently dilated and visible. In the past, there was little you could do about spider veins.Now, laser technology has revolutionized treatment so facial veins can virtually be erased.
Facial spider veins appear on both men and women. You may have noticed fine, little red veins on the nose, chin, or cheeks that weren't there before. Age Spots / Brown Spots
Laser treatment for the removal of bothersome brown and age spots, Cafe-au-lait birthmarks, and pigmented scars is very effective and available at the Doctors' Cosmetic Laser Center.
Brown spots on the skin called lentiges are small tan to medium brown areas that can arise on any skin surface. They are usually smaller than 1cm but can grow much larger. They typically arise in skin that has received excessive sun exposure and increase in number as a person ages.
Age spots are the accumulated brown spots (described above), which develop during normal aging. They are commonly found on the back of the hands, arms, chest, back and face.
Cafe-au-lait spots are flat, light tan to pale brown patches of pigmented skin apparent at birth or in early infancy.
Birthmarks and Hemangiomas
Vascular lesions (port-wine stain, hemangioma, angioma) are made up of a network of blood vessels. These vessels are close to the skin surface, causing the skin to be colored pink, red, or purple. Laser treatment with the VersaPulse Laser can significantly improve or remove these types of vascular birthmarks and hemangiomas.
Hemangiomas, port-wine stains, venous malformations and lymphangiomas are generally present from infancy. These lesions are classified as congenital (from birth) and frequently appear on or around the head and neck.
Cherry angiomas, pyogenic granulomas, and venous lakes may be a result of trauma, hormones, photo (sun) damage or may simply be present as a spontaneous disorder. These lesions are classified as 'acquired' (can occur anytime) and appear anywhere on the body.
