Facial Spider Veins and Rosacea
Both men and women can develop small red veins, or telangiectasias, on the face due to age, sun damage, heredity, genetics, and life style factors. By directing adjustable pulses of green laser light which are absorbed by the hemoglobin in the vein, the veins are sealed shut and reabsorbed by the body.
Brown and Age Spots
These flat, tan to medium brown colored “lentigines” are a result of age and sun damage. Commonly found on the face, hands, arms, and chest, these spots can be effectively treated, often in a single session. The swift absorption of light results in the destruction of melanin, the pigment responsible for the spot, while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. Numerous spots may require several visits.
Hemangiomas, Port-Wine Birthmarks
These congenital vascular lesions are made up of a network of blood vessels which are close to the surface of the skin. They can be significantly improved or removed over several treatments.
Cherry Angiomas, Pyogenic Granulomas and Venous Lakes
These are acquired vascular lesions, often brought on by trauma, sun damage or other disorders. Treatment is based on the physician’s assessment and medical history, and a course of treatment may take several visits.
Tattoo Removal
Styles and taste change, but tattoos do not. With the VPC laser, different colors of concentrated light can be delivered to each color of ink in the tattoo, causing its gradual destruction and absorption into the body. However, it is important to know that over 100 tattoo inks are used today, and none are regulated by the FDA. It is impossible for the physician to predict the degree of removal on any given tattoo. Many treatments may be required for an optimal result
